ANZAN 2020 ASM
It is with regret I announce that the 2020 Australian & New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN) Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM), scheduled for 18-22 May, at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, is cancelled.
Late last week, in relation to COVID-19, the ANZAN Executive, Acting Chair of the Scientific Program Committee and Seed Events provided ANZAN Council with their unanimous recommendation that the 2020 ASM should be cancelled. Seed Events and the ANZAN Secretariat have since been working tirelessly to mitigate ANZAN’s position. The situation changed dramatically over the weekend and we continue to monitor the evolving circumstances.
We are endeavouring to reschedule the meeting for May 2021, ideally in Melbourne if we can secure space at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. We will notify members, sponsors and exhibitors, when new dates and venues have been secured.
On behalf of Council I want to thank Mark Slee, Kaitlyn Parratt, and all members of ANZAN’s Scientific Program Committee, for the work they have done to prepare an exceptional program and speakers for the meeting.
I would also like to thank our sponsors for their understanding and support in these uncertain times.
ANZAN will refund all conference registration fees paid to date. Please contact Lejla at Seed Events: firstname.lastname@example.org ANZAN is unable to refund flight or other expenses booked outside of the conference registration portal.
Arrangements are being made to hold the ANZAN Annual General Meeting via an online platform and we will provide details as soon as they are finalised.
On behalf of ANZAN Council, thank you for your understanding, and wish you and your families good health over the coming weeks and months.
Pamela McCombe, ANZAN President
